Steve Jennings, Founder ZYOZY Foundation

Steve Jennings founded Maxim, one of Europe's leading active lifestyle functional food and beverage companies in 1991 and was its CEO through 2000. In 1997, Maxim was acquired by Dutch food group, Prinsen BV. During that time, he successfully managed the integration of the Maxim business into the Prinsen system and oversaw the entry of Maxim into the mainstream grocery channel.

In late 2000, Steve began the development of a healthy snack and beverage platform specifically aimed at teenagers. In 2003, the platform concept was acquired by PepsiCo and Steve became one of the founding members of PepsiCo's 'good-for-you' foods and beverage innovation team.

Steve's youthful days in the 1960's and 70's were spent running around Hull located in the county of Yorkshire, England. Football, athletics, cycling, pretending to be George Best (greatest soccer player of all time) and all the other fun things that energetic kids do appealed far more than sitting in a room studying whatever......

With all the time he spent riding his bike, it was no surprise to anyone when he gave up his BP sponsored Chemical Engineering degree studies, packed his bags and together with his bicycle left the rugged landscape of Yorkshire and the famous fish & chips of Hull to try his hand at racing bicycles as a full time professional cyclist in Holland, Belgium and France.

Ask Steve what he does for a living and the likely response today will be; "start things, connect people, push out the 'higher-purpose' innovation envelope, encourage kids to be creative, ride my bike, have an innovative and sustainable impact on people confronted with extreme poverty."

When Steve isn't dreaming up ever more creative ways to tell the world about his lifework mission he can be found riding his bike on the network of trails found in the western suburbs of Chicago -- if you can catch him!

Steve is the co founder of Bicycles for Humanity, a Canadian humanitarian initiative that collects unwanted bicycles and distributes them to those most in need of mobility in Africa. He resides with his wife and 2 children in Naperville, Illinois.

Steve has retained The Helixx Group to help accelerate the development of the 'ZYOZY Foundation' - a multi-faceted, blended value organization that encompasses his lifework mission related to philanthropic, participatory media, events and commercial ventures that leverage emerging social-networking technology to 'activate youth in a global fight against extreme poverty'.
