Ken Ferguson, Co-Founder, Mpower Media

Ken has one of the most diverse and successful career paths of any executive in the television industry.  He is highly regarded both for his innovation and his operating acumen.  He has recently teamed with one of the entertainment industry’s most respected producers, Steve McEveety, to launch Mpower Media.

Most recently, Ken was Chief Operating Officer for National Geographic Television.  He created $2.2B in new value for the company by developing and launching the worldwide National Geographic Channel, in association with NBC, Fox, and BSkyB, which now operates in 152 countries with over 230M subscribers broadcasting in 27 languages. The Channel was created with little initial investment by National Geographic Television.

In addition to running the TV operations, Ken is credited with creating a new feature film business which has successfully produced two films, "Snow Dogs" (for Disney) and "K-19" (starring Harrison Ford). The business also is acquiring properties and independent productions including "The Weeping Camel," which received an Academy Award nomination for best documentary film in 2004, and “March of the Penguins” which has become the largest box office of any Natural History film and one of the most profitable films of the decade

Prior to his work at National Georgraphic, Ken was Chief Financial Officer for Dick Clark Productions, where he managed all financial and administrative matters for that diverse public holding company.   Prior to his tenure there, he was Vice President for DeLaurentiis Entertainment Group, and served as a Manager at Accenture.

Ken earned the CPA designation following his undergraduate studies at California State University. He and his wife and their seven children live in Great Falls, Virginia.

Ken has retained The Helixx Group (along with Steve McEveety) to help launch and fund the television initiative for Mpower Media, which will deliver personalized, family-friendly media into the home.
